My Daughter called me in panic as baby very ill and they wouldn't give an appointment till near closing time. i told her to call 111 they said to call and ask to speak to the Doctor Seems this receptionist has no business being in this job as she refused saying there were emergencies What is more important than a baby being ill?? AWFUL Another comment on here says she acts like a night club bouncer.
Called the surgery for urgent appointment , as had symptoms of UTI . I was asked to provide a sample test , which I provided but it was not looked all day . At 4 30 I was told that I should ring back at 6 if I dont hear from anyone . They then suddenly agreed for someone to have a look as soon as I mentioned complaint . Despite being in agony and having all symptoms doctor did not prescribe me antibiotics because she said the dipstick was normal . The doctor seemed to be defending herself more than listening to me Now I am a doctor and I know that dipstick is not always most reliable and one has to treat UTI is patient is symptomatic. Highly disappointed
I have had the worst treatment from this surgery today. I never got to speak to a doctor even though I am a chemotherapy patient. I waited 45 minutes on the phone to speak to a receptionist, in the end my partner had to drive there. There were no phones ringing and no patients waiting. He explained about me trying to call as I was at work, he was told that the phones have been very busy. She then called me explaining that their having phone issues. I told her if I didnt get antibiotics I could become very ill, she then said she would talk to a gp and get a go to call me. If I didnt get a call before 6:30pm the phones will not be on so I would have to go to the surgery. 6:20pm I received a call, NOT from a gp but the same bloody receptionists!!! This is not the first time that the surgery has been unprofessional. Avoid avoid avoid!
Appointments usually run late but it's down to the fact they spend time with each patient as needed rather than rush, so I don't mind that at all! One day it could well be me that needs the extra time and I would hate to feel rushed through the door as the 10 minute timer goes ping.Excellent care from the Doctor's and Nurses I have had the pleasure of seeing there and the reception staff are friendly and helpful.I note some comments made about the appointment system in other reviews, I'm not a big fan of the call on the day policy either but it is what it is and there is always the 'app' that you can book advance appointments through. Like any busy surgery though appointment availability can be an issue - but you can't blame the staff here for what is essentially a funding matter.Worth noting is that you can order your repeat prescriptions (for most items) via the 'app' that they encourage you to use. Cuts down on the need to keep popping in and out of the surgery if you are on long term medication which is nice!Small Boots pharmacy next door means that it really is a one stop shop for most ailments.Recommended.
Excellent NHS service, Doctors & nurses are great and polite helpful receptionists
