My car refused to move off the driveway, it seemed the back left brake was stuck on.I called the AA out who temporarily fixed it and I was advised to get the brake shoes replaced.The first garage I went to wanted to fix things that werent broken and quoted me over 400 for replacing things that didnt need replacing and to wait 3 days to bring it back after having it the whole day.My dad told me he used Hardings for years, so did my grandad, and that I should go there.They fit me in the same day I went up there and had the job done by 3.30 pm.They did a check and only replaced what needed replacing, none of the extra things I was quoted for by the other garage.Barry at reception was brilliant, and as a new driver who doesnt know much about cars, I will be more than happy to return when needed.
I have been bringing my car here for several years now. Works are always completed to the highest standards. Staff are friendly and always make conversation. I recommend this garage to everyone
Booked in for a service and MOT after a good experience the year before. Sadly this time I was very disappointed- Im all up for supporting local businesses and paying a little extra to do so but no when the customer service is so poor.My car failed its MOT on what I was told was a bulb inserted the wrong way up (which is surprising seeing as it hasnt been touched since my previous MOT) and the washers were blocked.Bulb was corrected by them but the washers were fixed by my rather handy partner. On going for my retest I was then told that there was also a problem with the engine mounting and that they told me and my partner this at the first MOT appointment- they didnt but insisted rather hard that they had. I even checked with my partner and he said they hadnt told him either. When they came back I mentioned that I checked with my partner who confirmed that no mention had been made about the engine mounting- it was only then that he said he checked and we were right nothing was wrong with the engine mounting.All in all I feel ripped off, and very unhappy and taken for a bit of a ride (excuse the pun). I would not recommend Harding Auto and will define not be using them in future
